DAGIRH (The Defense Analyst’s Generic Intelligence Requirements Handbook)
The Marine Corps first introduce the Generic Intelligence Requirements Handbook (GIRH). The GIRH field manual provides guidance to intelligence analysts and the man in the field alike. It provides frameworks for identifying and recording important intelligence data. Among its guidance it includes intelligence reporting formats, lists of specific information with intelligence importance, etc. For instance, the GIRH provides guidance on what information to collect when observing a bridge (”BridgeRep”). To develop good combat intelligence, analysts must know what type of equipment can safely traverse important bridges. The GIRH is purposed to ensure the man in the field collects the information necessary for intelligence analysis. DAGIR Co. with its Marine Corps background, has continued the tradition of the GIRH and has expanded its informational resources and capabilities to support professionals who are not supported by full intelligence apparatuses. The DAGIRH: M is the Defense Analyst’s Generic Intelligence Requirements Handbook: Methamphetamines. The DAGRIH: M details the Centers of Gravity (CoG), Critical Vulnerabilities (CV), Critical Requirements (CR), and Critical Capabilities (CC) of the elements of methamphetamine systems. A methamphetamine system (methsys) is a seamless infrastructure, which begins with the acquisition of knowledge and chemical precursors, continues through synthesis of the methamphetamine molecule, to transportation, distribution, use, and excretion from the user’s body. The synthesis of methamphetamines is a messy business that produces many indicators. The DAGIRH: M identifies key indicators at different stages of the methsys. The DAGIRH: M serves as a reference field manual that helps users identify indicators while they are in the presence of the indicators. Intelligence has a surprising short lifespan. The DAGIRH: M allows the user to, on the spot, determine the probability of whether an incident or location is related to the production of methamphetamine and identify potential dangers to themselves and those they are charged to protect. The DAGIRH is designed specifically for field use. It is produced in a vinyl 6″x9″ binder and printed on Xerox’s water resistant and tear resistant Duradocumentâ paper. This design not only proves sturdy and durable, but also allows for updates as users in the field contribute their experience and expertise to the DAGIRH itself. The DAGIRH is a living publication in which updates can regularly be produce and mailed to users.
