S.A.N. (Structured Analysis Network)

Structured Analysis NetworkThe SAN is a user-interface and information organizing structure designed to help the user display data and/or indicators in the manner that best helps him/her assess a target situation. The SAN organizes and connects data and indicators in terms of how they relate to each other. The neural network display (see image left) shows information in terms of how it links together. From a simple glance the user can see how many links (1-4 in this example left) an indicator is away from another, helping the user determine the relevance of information. The end result is a dynamic display of all elements typically needed to produce a targeted conditional event (i.e. methamphetamine production), and of the nodes that have been activated by detected indicators. The SAN speeds up an investigation by showcasing the “intelligence gaps,” and suggesting plausible investigative possibilities. Additionally the SAN offers bar, line, and pie graph displays to display other trends and properties of data and indicators.
